Ubuntu in VMware Player

Ubuntu on VMware Hosted on Zooomr

I’m blogging this from a Ubuntu 6.10 Edgy Eft install in VMware Player. Thanks to some useful tips I found, I was able to get Edgy Eft installed after increasing the virtual disk size to 3G.

VMware Player is amazing. It allows you to try out the various OS installs and applications without the risk of wiping out your existing OS. Best of all, it’s free to use. Can’t wait to try out the other Linux flavours. Gentoo, here I come!

The Ubuntu install was a breeze. I’m going to take it out for a spin and see if I like it enough to consider installing it permanently on the laptop / PC.
